How to Install a Live TV APK on Firestick and Fire TV
By Live TV APK Team · Updated 2026-10-24 · 4 min read
Fire TV runs a version of Android, so many APKs can be sideloaded. Check that the app supports Fire OS and your Fire TV model before you start.
What you need
- A Fire TV or Firestick connected to Wi-Fi
- The Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore
- The direct URL of the APK from a source you trust
Steps
- Search for Downloader on the Fire TV home screen and install it.
- Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options and enable Install unknown apps for Downloader. (On newer Fire OS versions this is under Settings → My Fire TV → About, or inside the Downloader prompt.)
- Open Downloader, enter the APK URL and select Go.
- When the download finishes, choose Install, then Open.
- Delete the installer file afterwards to save space.
Tips
- Apps built for Android phones often have no TV interface. Pick apps made for TV, such as Live TV (Android TV), and check compatibility first.
- Fire TV runs its own Android base, so some Android TV apps will not run on every model.
- If the app is missing from your home screen, open Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications.

FAQ
Can I install any APK on Firestick?
Not every APK works. The app must support the Fire OS version of your device and ideally have a TV-friendly interface.
Do I need a computer to sideload on Firestick?
No. The Downloader app lets you fetch and install an APK directly on the device.
